The Winter Solstice arrives on Thursday, December 21, 2023, and represents the moment we celebrate the "return of the light." The days will begin to get longer after the Winter Solstice and you will feel the greater light of the Sun "inspiriting" you to take new initiatives.

Before we delve into the game-changing astrological alignments of 2024, I'd like to share a Winter Solstice photo sent by a client who lives in North Pole, Alaska. It is hauntingly beautiful. You can almost "hear" the quiet and stillness of the winter snow.

Our World's Transition to a Higher Age Will Dynamically Continue in 2024

Powerfully transformative Pluto will move into Aquarius on January 20, 2024, along with the Sun in Aquarius on the same day. This portends a high-intensity focus on technological breakthroughs and the positive & negative sides of electronics and artificial intelligence. Pluto's movement into Aquarius also corresponds to the same point in the sky as the "Christmas Star" (the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction we saw in the sky at the Winter Solstice of 2020). This alignment brings hope for an enlightened transformation of all that is not working in our world.

The synchrony of the light-giving Sun with transformative Pluto in Aquarius at the same point in the sky as the "Christmas Star" will highlight the powerful influence of Aquarius, the Sign of the Water Bearer, in the coming era.

Let's look at the deeper meaning of Aquarius, which is symbolized by 2 currents of energy flowing through air & water (see image below). The 2 currents also represent the electricity & magnetism running through our bodies and the air around us. Aquarius symbolizes cosmic energy, also known as prana, chi or qi. Our relationship to this key element is about to change. We can expect to learn new ways to harness this universal energy to accomplish tasks previously accomplished by medicine or other mechanical means--for such things as healing, communications, and transportation.

In last year's astrological forecast, I talked extensively about the governmental, corporate, economic, political, and environmental changes about to manifest under Pluto in Aquarius from now until 2043. Click here to see Pluto predictions in my 2023 Forecast (scroll down for predictions)

These changes include rapid technological advances, fluctuating financial markets (see details below), abrupt changes in global leadership accompanied by societal unrest & protests, turbulent weather patterns, disruptions of the electrical grid, and discovery of new natural resources to generate power. Small groups of individuals will come together to create influential communities even while monolithic systems run by artificial intelligence seem to be on the rise.

Eventually, larger systems will be reorganized into smaller units as well. It may take until 2043 for the changes to fully come to fruition. But the overall direction is toward a higher age with more individual responsibility, innovation, less reliance on established power structures, and greater mastery over how to use our thoughts & prayers to create positive results. Ultimately, it will be a very spiritual time.

In this 2024 forecast, I will focus on Pluto in Aquarius at an elemental level, meaning its relationship to the 5 elemental components of our natural world: earth, water, fire, air & ether. Aquarius is a mental air sign that influences our world through mental power. Aquarian energy influences the movement of air & water in the human body and physical world. When Pluto is in Aquarius, it also rules movement of electromagnetic energy through the airwaves (Wi-Fi or satellite technology), and human thought traveling through the air-or ethers. Pluto in Aquarius will bring about a radical transformation of our relationship to our thoughts, communication, and our relationships to each other. 

Pluto governs the sub-structure of human consciousness. It is the plasma that connects everything.  In Aquarius, it is the energy of liquid & air that pervades our world. Even if we think that the air is empty space, it is filled with charged particles that influence our thoughts, prayers, intentions, and actions. We just don't know how to consistently use this energy this yet. And that is what Pluto in Aquarius is here to teach us!

We believe that electricity and energy are generated outside of our bodies because we have relied upon externals to give us "power" for the last several centuries. We even have turned over power and authority to "leaders" outside of ourselves--to leaders of governments, political parties, corporations, the medical establishment, and even the "stars" of the sports, music, and entertainment industries.

Collectively, we are coming out of this "outer authority" orientation to an era of greater personal empowerment, or "inner authority." Gradually we will learn about healing ourselves with light & sound, and even with our own internal energy resources or the energy in the air we breathe. We will discover many other potentialities.

Industry also will move away from dependence upon externals for mechanical energy, whether it be fossil fuels extracted from the earth (the heaviest element), or even lighter elements from solar power (fire), wind turbines (air), or hydrogen (a component of water and found in small amounts in air). Solar & wind power are the next step in human evolution but eventually will be phased out as even more subtle forms of energy, light, and sound are employed.

Break Down to Break Through

Until this year, transformative Pluto has been in the earth sign of Capricorn, where it has promoted the collective focus on finances, economies, governments, corporations, politics, and institutions that reflect the structured energy of Capricorn--where Pluto has been since 2008.

Pluto in Capricorn has exposed the dark side of these institutional structures, and it has also begun to dismantle them. Pluto will briefly revisit Capricorn from September 1 - November 19, 2024 (which includes the U.S. Presidential Election on November 5, 2024). This means that the upcoming 2024 U.S. Election, and others political decisions around the world, will be tinged with the influence of the "old" world before we fully merge into the "new" world of Pluto in Aquarius after November 19, 2024. Regarding the U.S. Election Day on November 5, 2024, when powerful Pluto will still be in Capricorn, vestiges of past thinking and paradigms will be in evidence. But the actual Inauguration Day will occur under Pluto in Aquarius--on January 21, 2025. On this day, Mars Retrograde will be opposite Pluto. This portends the re-emergence of historical struggles between old & new, tradition & innovation, left & right, haves & have nots, etc. What was decided in November 2024 may not seem as relevant, or have as much power over us, by January 2025. During this upcoming period, many reversals & crossovers will occur between those on the "left" of the political spectrum espousing elements of the "right," and those on the "right" of the political spectrum espousing elements of the left. Unfortunately, expressions of aggression (and war) may continue to be prevalent at this time--before we collectively understand how much we need each other in order to move into a higher era.

As external infrastructures gradually or not-so-gradually deteriorate, we will develop greater internally generated wisdom and power. From our greater collective awareness, new discoveries will replace old systems. For example, we may not as readily need Wi-Fi and satellite communications when we understand how thoughts can be transmitted by the electromagnetic power of the mind.  Or, gas stations and electric charging stations may become obsolete when vehicles can be propelled, or even fly, with naturally-generated electromagnetic energy. 

Ideas expressed in this newsletter may seem far-fetched, but there is tremendous electrical power in our hearts & brains, which emit powerful electromagnetic fields into the charged field around us. We will learn to draw this energy into our bodies and harness it under the influence of Pluto in Aquarius--especially as existing circuits become overloaded and we search for inventive ways to sustain our human lives. As we know, the electromagnetic fields currently generated by conventional electrical systems have not always had positive effects upon human health. This will be improved upon in coming years.

Yet, the ensuing metamorphosis of the "old world" to the "new world" will not happen overnight. There will be time to hold onto remnants of the old systems that are still working. Nonetheless, it is helpful for each of us to envision the overall direction we are heading--for greater understanding and inner peace--as the outer transformations occur. Think about what you would like to take forward into the new era, and what you would like to let go of.

A Time to Connect with Nature

As the use of current forms of electricity has accelerated, so too has the need for the natural rhythms of the planet and the human heart to re-assert themselves. On a metaphysical level, potential electrical interruptions under Pluto in Aquarius will be a positive opportunity to slow down, re-connect with nature, our own humanity and our inter-connectedness with other humans, and with the rhythm of our own hearts. We will depend more and more on energy within ourselves for healing, and we will use our thoughts & prayers to attract the people and situations we need to support ourselves.

Do be prepared for disruptions in the flow of electricity as frequencies on the planet go through a positive transformation. During the coming year, less reliance on electronic means of communication or entertainment could be preferable. It's a time to simplify.

There also will be a flurry of new applications for water and air purification and for the generation of power from these elements of nature--beginning when beneficial Jupiter aligns with electrically-oriented and innovative Uranus in Taurus on April 20, 2024. The resulting new commercial ventures will bring people together in new ways.

An alignment of fortunate Jupiter in Gemini (ruling air) with the restructuring energy of Saturn in Pisces (ruling water) from August 19, 2024 to June 15, 2025 also will cause us to re-imagine the use of air and water, and to re-direct their constituent parts--hydrogen and oxygen--to innovative uses.

Gyrating Financial Markets, Rapid Leadership Changes, Protests, Unexpected Political Reversals

On a more mundane level, watch for financial markets to fluctuate dramatically between extremes in 2024. Various sectors of the markets will gyrate up and down in opposite directions from each other, and then they will be prone to sudden reversals of direction. Resources will appear to expand under the Jupiter-Uranus alignment of April 20, 2024, but then appear to contract under the Jupiter-Saturn alignment of August 19, 2024 - June 15, 2025.  It will be challenging to find consistent direction for financial investments.

Politically, the planetary alignments beginning in August 2024 portend many unexpected changes in leadership as we collectively experiment with better ways to move together into the "new" world. Protests against the "old" will abound. It is possible that who we think is running for the President of the United States will not be who is running at all. Or, who we think a candidate is may not be who he or she turns out to be--on a dramatic level. Other unseen influences for good or ill may also be involved in charting our future direction. We may discover other powers "behind the throne."

Finally, we can look to a series of eclipses in 2024 to guide the direction of our progress. These eclipses on March 25, April 8, September 18, and October 2, 2024, will spur new economies, including bartering and digital currencies, and new ways of cultivating food. Much spiritual growth and expansion of consciousness is possible under these influences. Think back to 2005, when similar eclipses last occurred, to understand the kinds of issues that may arise for resolution.

Earth Changes

"Natural Warnings" of the need to slow down and change direction are abundant in nature as the number and duration of wildfires, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, electrical & solar storms is accelerating. These are signs that "Mother Nature" is out of balance. Biblical stories of floods and fires record what has happened in the past when humanity has fallen out of tune with Spirit and higher expressions of human nature. 

While it wasn't reported extensively in the news, last month, there were devastating floods from the rivers, following torrential rains, in central Italy, near Florence, where my Italian friends live. Waves of water sent cars cascading and flooded homes up to the 2nd floor within 1 kilometer of my friends' home. The extent of the devastation in their region was astounding. Fortunately, my friends are safe but they did have to live without electricity and water for 4 days. Here is a photo: 

We certainly are moving into a time when we will have plenty of opportunities to reach out and help others as disruptions to the "norm" are on the rise. On a positive note, it will be a wonderful opportunity for humanity to let go of self-preoccupation and experience what it is to be part of an interconnected planet of loving individuals eager to help fellow souls on the journey to love, greater light, and consciousness.
