Autumn Equinox 2024 Autumn Equinox Greetings! The Autumn Equinox, the moment of equal balance between light and
dark, arrives on Sunday, September 22, 2024. The Autumn Equinox is ushered in
by the balanced sign of Libra (September 22 - October 24) and is followed by a
period of diminishing light in the Northern Hemisphere. This is your time
for greater introspection, self-reflection, and focus on your inner resources.
The veil between earth and the astral worlds is said to be thinnest at the
midpoint between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice at Halloween,
under the mystical sign of Scorpio (October 24-November 21). We then
enter the Christmas holiday season under the upbeat sign of
Sagittarius (November 21 - December 21). I recently was meditating on the Autumn Equinox, and while meditating, I heard the loud squawking of a large black crow in the tree outside my window. The crow did not sound happy, so I started praying for it and sending it love. As the loud cawing subsided, underneath the loud squawking of the crow, was a chorus of smaller songbirds melodiously chirping. Their sound was so beautiful! But I could not hear the multitude of sweet birds' lighter melody above the piercing sound of one, just one, larger bird. Within seconds, the wayward crow flew away, leaving a chorus of harmonious voices that had been drowned out by one discordant voice.
The birds' situation seemed an apt metaphor for the times we are living in. There are so many kind, sweet, light-filled voices that are being overpowered and drowned out by the loud voices of a few. If we pray for these discordant and disharmonious voices and send them love, maybe they too will be transformed to reveal the lighter and light-filled melodies underneath. Just as the crow's loud voice overpowered the beautiful birdsong, negativity can temporarily drown out the positive voices in our world. By sending love and understanding, even to those who seem discordant, we can create a more harmonious world. This is especially important as we approach a pivotal U.S. election in November 2024.
U.S. Election-November 5th-14 Days Before Pluto Enters Aquarius on November 19th
The true picture of the new world we are about to enter will be more evident after November 19, 2024-when Pluto completes its transition into the humanitarian, egalitarian sign of Aquarius. Unfortunately, the higher state of consciousness represented by Pluto in Aquarius will not be reflected in the choice of U.S. presidential candidates on November 5, 2024, just 14 days before consciousness-raising Pluto moves into Aquarius, where it will effect transformational change until January 19, 2044.
What has happened is that Pluto, ruler of collective
consciousness, temporarily dipped out of the evolution-oriented sign of
Aquarius to return to the tradition-bound sign of Capricorn from September 1 to
November 19, 2024-covering the period when the U.S. election will occur. The
last time Pluto moved from Capricorn to Aquarius was in 1778, just after the
American Revolution and just before the French Revolution, when the concept of
democracy was nascent on the planet. The resiliency of American democratic
principles is being tested again during the completion of Pluto's cycle through
Capricorn, where it was when the American nation was founded. Additionally,
four of the five outer planets influencing collective awareness will be
retrograde during the U.S. Election, again pulling collective thinking back to
the past-and limiting access to the vision necessary to move forward on a
higher level.
The final transition of Pluto out of Capricorn signifies a decisive dismantling of the governmental forces and corporate structures that have overly asserted their power and are no longer working in the highest good of the majority. We are moving into a more egalitarian time when power will be distributed into more hands rather than fewer. The astrological timing of the U.S. Election means that the person elected on November 5th, under Pluto in Capricorn, will assume office under Pluto in Aquarius-under a very different state of consciousness from the influences under which they were elected.
This means that the winner of the U.S. presidential race either will not be very effective, or their legitimacy as the leader will be severely called into question. Either way, the polarities in thinking between left and right will likely persist until the next election in 2028 brings more advanced rather than retrogressive thinking to the fore. Part of the problem in this election is that the reasoning of the mainstream candidates may often be more geared toward solving the problems of the past than toward addressing a visionary path to the future.
Red + Blue = Purple
Under Pluto in Aquarius beginning on November 19, 2024, we will see
diverse views being more easily synthesized. Polarities will be gradually
healed. Instead of holding all "red" views or all "blue" views, many people
will espouse some "red" and some "blue" positions, turning the collective
consciousness "purple."
Pluto will remain in the more equitable sign of Aquarius until January 19, 2044. During this upcoming 20-year period, we will see many new technological advances that completely transform our lives. Faster and further communications will spread concepts more quickly, resulting in an even greater synthesis of ideas. Ultimately, the expanded awareness across the globe is a precursor to increased telepathic abilities-where we will know and understand the thoughts of each other, even those on the other side of the earth-or beyond the earth.
Eclipses on September 17th & October 2nd Focus on Health & Relationships
On a more short-term note, the autumn season features a series of eclipses that will highlight issues of relationships and health. We are just coming to the conclusion of our collective relationship lessons and moving into a period of greater focus on health. Already, we are hearing a chorus of voices calling for cleaner air, water, and food supply, with fewer microplastics in our bodies. The possibility of a shortage of healthy food, air, and water eventually will give rise to greater global cooperation to create a healthier environment.
Under a Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, new information will be revealed that will challenge your previously-held assumptions, particularly with regard to the healthiness-or unhealthiness-of a public service, for example, that you took for granted. There is great potential for the reversal of previous directions as well, especially in financial markets and political decisions. Electoral poll results taken before September 17, 2024 may look very different after September 17, 2024, as the mood of the people across the planet is ready to change. An Annular Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 2, 2024, will challenge existing structures and plans, and cause fixed opinions and financial directions to reverse themselves yet again. vs. New; Fantasy vs. Reality Finally, Jupiter in Gemini will square Saturn in Pisces on December 24, 2024 (this last happened on August 19, 2024). As a result, there will be much new information to process. There will be further struggles between the old and the new.
